Winter Ceilidh 2013

The nights are drawing in and the mercury is falling, but there’s always something to celebrate this time of year as the City of Hobart Highland Pipe Band Winter Ceilidh 2013 is fast approaching. Now into its fourth year, this night has evolved to have something to offer for all. This year’s highlights will include:

  • A performance by the full band and dancing from the Campbell Studio of Highland Dance.
  • An intimate guided whisky tasting with Bill Lark of Lark Distillery. Expect something a little bit different this year – some might call it heresy!
  • Or, an intimate guided hot chocolate tasting with Teresa Streefland of Cocobean Chocolate. What could be better (aside from whisky) this time of year than sampling hot chocolate made from different varieties of pure couveture?
  • The HFCC slow cooked winter casserole buffet. A great variety of winter comfort food will warm and nourish the body and the soul.
  • The fourth Inter-Tasmanian Kitchen Piper Cup. Tasmania’s top gun pipers battle it out in a free-styling, crowd-pleasing challenge. Will Mark Bowles defend his title from last year? Will it finally be John Ralph’s year? Or could CoHHPB’s Matt Holzberger or Nathan Churches claim the spoils?
  • After all that you might feel like a spot of dancing, and the sensational soul rock and modern pop sounds of Manhattan are sure to have everyone on the floor.

Everyone is welcome at this event, so please, support the band by rounding up a table or two of family and friends.
